Designer, artist and maker Michelle Coleman DeMarco fell in love with design, textiles, pattern and drawing at a young age. Her experience and passion for creating spans many different areas and mediums. After receiving her first degree in Art History & Costume Design from UT Austin, she worked on the wardrobe team for the Cohen brothers’ first movies, moving on to NYC to study at Parsons School of Design under the mentorship of Tim Gunn. After graduating with honors in fashion and jewelry design, she worked as a womenswear designer for Calvin Klein Collection, Donna Karan Collection and Ralph Lauren Black Label over a 25 year career. In 1998 she was awarded “Best New Designer” at Coterie New York for the Icon Label she founded with Mitchell Kass. Michelle has also taught Fashion Design & Illustration at Parsons School of Design in NYC and was chosen to represent the USA to study Fur Design at Saga Fur Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Museum of the City of New York has acquired her jewelry designs for their permanent collection. Currently Michelle loves life in Palm Beach County in the beautiful town of Delray Beach, where she designs and creates textiles, home décor and artwork for private clients. Michelle’s creativity is influenced by her lifelong world travels, a passion for beauty and color, the always inspiring Atlantic Ocean, and a boundless curiosity for life.
